Athagarh, Gopalpur Tata Steel Plants Awarded for Outstanding Safety

Tata Steel’s Ferro Chrome Plants in Athagarh and Gopalpur receive Platinum and Gold Kalinga Safety Excellence Awards respectively.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s Ferro Chrome Plants, located in Athagarh and Gopalpur, have been recognized for their exceptional safety standards.

The Athagarh plant, awarded the prestigious Platinum Kalinga Safety Excellence Award, has demonstrated outstanding safety and operational integrity.

Gopalpur’s Ferro Chrome Plant received the Gold category award, reflecting its commitment to high safety standards.

These awards were presented at the National Safety Conclave – 2023, organized by the Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services.

The recognition is for the performance year 2022, a testament to the plants’ continuous focus on safety.

Dr. Sudhansu Sarangi, Director General of Fire Services in Odisha, awarded Bathula Srinivas and Atla Rambabu, heads of the respective plants.

Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge (FAMD) at Tata Steel, expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the team’s commitment to safety.

The awards motivate the Tata Steel team to maintain and enhance safety standards in their operations.

The achievements of these plants, formerly under Tata Steel Mining Limited and now part of FAMD, showcase Tata Steel’s dedication to safety and operational excellence.
