JAMSHEDPUR – A unique attraction has been introduced at the Ganesh Puja mela in Kadma this year with foreign performers appearing as mermaids in water shows.
The fair, modeled on Maharashtra traditions, is being organized for 15 days. For the first time, mermaid displays have become the centerpiece of public curiosity. Performers from abroad are enacting mermaid roles in water.
However, this rare act has drawn equal interest from both children and adults. People have been gathering in large numbers to watch the performers. “It feels like watching a real mermaid in front of us,” said one visitor, reflecting the excitement of many others.
Besides, the mermaid display has become one of the most discussed attractions of the fair. Organizers noted that the show was designed to give visitors an international experience within a traditional Indian mela setting.
