Tatanagar Kidnapping: Abducted Girl Safely Recovered

Swift Action by Railway Police Leads to Recovery of Kidnapped Child

A young girl child, kidnapped from Tatanagar railway station, has been safely recovered by the GRP.

JAMSHEDPUR – The GRP police successfully rescued a girl who was abducted from outside the Tatanagar railway station.

The girl was found late on Tuesday night after an intensive review of CCTV footage by the Railway Police.

Efforts to trace the kidnapper’s car led to the discovery of the girl near Gamharia, where the kidnapper abandoned her with a family member.

The Railway Police has since reunited the girl with her mother.

While the perpetrator remains at large, the police continue to investigate.

The incident began when Riya Singh, a resident of Baghbeda who survives by begging, was sleeping at the station with her child.

In a shocking turn, a car driver abducted her child.

The Tatanagar GRP police, acting on a case filed 48 hours post-incident, launched an investigation.

On the night of December 14th, the eight-month-old girl was kidnapped while sleeping with her parents outside the station.

Following a case registration, the Railway SP directed a dedicated team, including a Special Investigation Team, to resolve the case.

The girl was eventually found at a residence in Nirmal Path, Gamharia, under the Seraikela district.

Railway SP Rishabh Ja informed that the criminals have been identified, and the vehicle used in the crime has been located.

An arrest of the culprits is anticipated soon.

One woman, who received the child in Gamharia, is under investigation, though her direct involvement in the kidnapping remains unclear.

The Railway Police’s rapid response led to the safe return of the girl to her family.
