New Garden Island Enhances Safety at Tata Steel Jamshedpur

Tata Steel Jamshedpur inaugurates a garden island near Slag Gate, enhancing traffic safety and environmental aesthetics.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Jamshedpur’s Slag Gate area has been transformed with the inauguration of a new island garden.

The garden was inaugurated by Probal Ghosh and Rajiv Mangal, Vice Presidents at Tata Steel, in the presence of senior TWU members and other officials.

This initiative addresses safety concerns caused by heavy vehicle traffic and frequent near misses in the area.

The new roundabout and Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC) road aim to ensure safer traffic movement.

Spanning 250 square meters, the garden island features a variety of plant species, adding greenery to the industrial landscape.

The project was skillfully executed by the Engineering Services under the Spares & Services division.

Distinguished attendees included V K Tripathi, Dipankar Dasgupta, Amit Ranjan Chakraborty, and Akhilesh Kumar Mishra.

TWU Deputy President Shailesh Kumar Singh and General Secretary Satish Kumar Singh were also present.

This development not only enhances traffic safety but also contributes to the environmental appeal of the Tata Steel Jamshedpur works.

The Slag Gate Garden is a testament to Tata Steel’s commitment to safety and sustainability in its operations.
