NIA Raids in Jamshedpur Lead to Detention and Release of Suspects

NIA Detains and Interrogates Suspects in Jamshedpur for Alleged Terrorist Links

In a significant operation, the NIA detained two individuals in Jamshedpur, leading to revelations about terrorist activities and social media connections.

JAMSHEDPUR -The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team conducted a raid in Jugsalai, Jamshedpur, detaining Aftab Pathan and Shahbaz alias Guddu.

Aftab was released after 12 hours of interrogation due to lack of involvement.

Shahbaz’s interrogation continued, with a laptop, tab, and mobile phone being recovered.

Shahbaz is suspected of fundraising and recruiting for a terrorist organization through social media.

The NIA presented Shahbaz in court after a medical examination at MGM Hospital and took him to Ranchi on transit remand.

The NIA team initially raided the homes of both individuals, taking them into custody for questioning.

Shahbaz admitted association with a terrorist organization, while no evidence was found against Aftab.

Shahbaz, a resident of Jugsalai, has been working in a mobile tower company since 2019 and described himself as a field engineer.

NIA and ATS teams are investigating the case.

The NIA team, arriving in ten vehicles, conducted raids with the help of local police.

Information suggests that Shahbaz communicated with foreign agents of a terrorist organization via Facebook.

Shahbaz’s interactions with Aftab were a focus of the NIA investigation.

Two individuals from Jugsalai, including Aftab Pathan and his landlord, were released after questioning.

The NIA continues to investigate, with several individuals reportedly on their radar.
