Majhi Tola Resident Attacked in Saldih Basti
Critical Condition for Attack Victim in Seraikela-Kharsawan
Sukumar Das suffers critical injuries in a brutal attack in Saldih Basti, Adityapur, under intensive care at TMH.
JAMSHEDPUR – Sukumar Das, a resident of Majhi Tola, faced a life-threatening attack in Saldih Basti within the jurisdiction of the Adityapur police station in Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The assailants first brutally beat Das and then crushed his head with a stone before throwing him into a drain.
Das was later admitted to TMH by his family in a critically injured state.
The incident occurred late Monday evening when Das was ambushed and assaulted on the road.
Police have begun an investigation following the violent attack.
Sukumar Das has a history of criminal accusations too, including the murder of sand trader Sujoy Nandi in December 2020.
He also has over half a dozen cases registered against him, including under the Arms Act, at Adityapur and Gamharia police stations.
Locals said that this attack highlights the ongoing issues of violence and crime in the area, prompting police action and community concern.
Locals have raised questions over the severity of the attack and Das’s critical condition and also about safety and law enforcement effectiveness in the region.
