Cylinder Explosion Leads to Major Fire in Jamshedpur Home
A cylinder explosion causes a devastating fire at Anup Rajan’s residence in Christian Basti, Jamshedpur, leading to significant damages.
JAMSHEDPUR – A fire broke out at the residence of Anup Rajan in Christian Basti, under the jurisdiction of the Sonari police station in Jamshedpur, on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire, which started in the kitchen, rapidly spread throughout the house, causing the residents to evacuate immediately.
Upon noticing the smoke, the women and children in the house quickly escaped to safety.
The police and fire department were promptly informed about the incident.
Firefighting teams from the Jharkhand Fire Department and Tata Steel responded with one and two fire engines, respectively.
To combat the smoke-filled rooms, firefighters broke into an adjacent bookshop and entered the house with oxygen masks.
After an intense effort lasting one and a half hours, the fire was successfully brought under control.
The fire was triggered by a cylinder explosion while cooking, leading to a second explosion and extensive damage.
The lower floor of the house, including furniture and electronics, was completely destroyed, resulting in substantial financial loss.
Locals said this incident highlights the dangers of cylinder-related accidents and underscores the importance of fire safety measures in residential areas.
