Balanced Academic and Holiday Calendar for 2024 at Ranchi University

Ranchi University, adhering to Governor’s directives, presents an inclusive academic and examination calendar for 2024.

RANCHI -Ranchi University has complied with the Governor’s directives by submitting a comprehensive academic and examination calendar for 2024 to Raj Bhavan.

The proposed calendar marks out a total of 69 days of holidays for colleges and 53 for university offices.

Key highlights of the holiday schedule include:

– New Year’s Day: Colleges will observe a holiday on January 1st.

– Summer Vacation: A 20-day summer break is scheduled from June 1 to June 20.

– Winter Vacation: The year-end winter vacation is planned from December 24 to December 31.

– Durga Puja Holiday: A six-day holiday is proposed for Durga Puja from October 7 to October 12.

– Festival Holiday Block: A 12-day holiday block, including Dhanteras, Diwali, Chitragupta Puja, and Chhath Puja, is set from October 28 to November 9.

– Holi Holiday: Holi will be celebrated with a two-day holiday on March 25 and 26.

– Eid ul Fitr and Sarhul Holiday: Both these festivals are allotted two-day holidays, respectively on April 11-12.

– Restricted Holidays: Tusu festival, Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti, Easter Monday, and Eid ul Joha will be observed as restricted holidays.

– Special Occasions on Sundays: Festivals like Sohrai, Shab-e-Barat, Ambedkar Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, Hool Diwas, and Rath Yatra fall on Sundays.

The calendar is crafted to strike a balance between academic commitments and cultural, as well as religious observances, offering a well-rounded and inclusive framework for the academic year 2024.
