Temple Thefts Rattle Chakradharpur Residents

Serial Theft in Chakradharpur Temples Raises Concerns Among Locals

Chakradharpur temples face serial thefts, with donation boxes stolen from two revered sites.

CHAKRADHARPUR – In a concerning trend of thefts in Chakradharpur, two temples have become the latest targets.

The Sonua Nischintpur Shiv Temple and the Hanuman temple at Digilota on Chakradharpur Sonua Road were targeted by thieves.

Neeraj Mahato, reporting the incidents, expressed the community’s growing unease due to these continual thefts.

At the Hanuman temple in Digilota, thieves not only stole the donation box but also took the temple bell, a significant religious artifact.

The incident occurred last night when the temple’s locks were broken.

A similar theft had occurred a week earlier at the Nischintpur temple, raising concerns about the security of these sacred places.

These temples, integral to the local community’s spiritual life, have faced security challenges despite their significance.

The recurring thefts have prompted calls for enhanced security measures and greater vigilance in the area.

Local police authorities are now under pressure to address these incidents and ensure the safety of the region’s religious sites.
