Jharkhand faces storm warnings on December 5, 6, and 7 as Cyclone Michong approaches, with the Meteorological Department predicting intense weather. The cyclone’s impact began in Jharkhand on Tuesday, bringing intermittent drizzle since early morning. Authorities, including the electricity department, have been alerted to brace for potential disruptions.

RANCHI – The Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for Jharkhand on December 5, 6, and 7 due to Cyclone Michong.

Its impact was felt from Tuesday, with intermittent drizzles starting at 4 am.

The electricity department has been alerted for potential disruptions.

Cyclone Michong is expected to reach speeds of 90-100 kilometers per hour.

This has led to a shift in wind direction in Jharkhand, with moisture-lacking air flowing in from the east.

Light to moderate rain is forecasted for Kolhan and areas near the capital on December 5.

Further rainfall is expected across the state on December 6 and 7.

The weather is likely to remain cloudy until December 8, affecting temperature patterns.

The Meteorological Department anticipates weather clearance from December 9.

Farmers are advised to protect their paddy crops from potential rain damage.

Paddy lying in barns may be particularly vulnerable to the upcoming weather conditions.
