Tata Steel Clinches Three INVEST Awards
Tata Steel Honored for Value Engineering at INVEST Conference
Tata Steel’s engineering prowess recognized with prestigious awards in Bengaluru.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has been awarded three prestigious Value Engineering Awards by the Indian Value Engineering Society (INVEST), highlighting its continuous innovation and efficiency in construction projects.
The accolades were received by the Engineering and Projects department during the 39th Annual International Value Engineering Conference in Bengaluru on 1-2 December.
This marks the department’s third consecutive year of winning in the technical category.
The awards received include:
1. Muttiah Kasi Award for the project at Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK), recognizing the exceptional application of FAST diagrams in improving logistics systems of Cold Rolled Downstream Processing Facility. The team led by Surya Prakash Prabhakar and Vikash Kumar showcased outstanding problem-solving and creative solutions.
2. KSRM Shastri Award for the Zero Effluent Discharge (ZED) Plant project at Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM), awarded for innovative capex reduction in pipeline packages. The project team, led by Subrata Ghosh, demonstrated effective use of function and creativity.
3. Best Technical Paper Award (3rd Prize) for a value study on the Extruded Briquette Plant in Jamshedpur, recognizing excellence in applying value engineering techniques for performance improvement. The team was headed by Ishrat Mirza.
Guidance and leadership for these projects were provided by notable Tata Steel executives, including Manish Kumar Singh, K Shankar Marar, Chandra Mohan Verma, Ravi Prakash, Dharmendra Kumar, T Saji Mathew, Anil Kumar Singh, Dharmendra Prasad, Kishore Tar, Vibhash Patnaik, and Ashish Kumar Das.
Chandra Mohan Verma, as an expert speaker on Value Engineering, also represented Tata Steel at the conference’s inaugural session, joined by industry leaders nationwide.
