Jamshedpur DAV School Leads National Sports Tournament 2023

DAV National Sports 2023 at Jamshedpur marks a significant milestone with government recognition and Olympic pathways.

JAMSHEDPUR – DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur, successfully hosted the two-day DAV National Sports 2023 Cluster-1 Tournament.

The event featured a wide range of sports, including Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Yoga, Chess, Boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Karate, Taekwondo, and Wushu.

Cricket competitions took place at the LIC Ground, Sonari, while Athletics events are scheduled at the JRD TATA Sports Complex.

Over 1000 participants from 10 schools inaugurated the ceremony with the DAV Gaan, followed by a welcome song and dance.

Distinguished principals from various DAV schools across Jharkhand, including Mr Anuj Kumar Mishra, Mr Kamlesh Kumar, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Mr. Ashish Kumar Mandal, and Ms Bubun Sharan, graced the event.

Mrs. Pragya Singh, ARO cum Principal of DAV PS, Bistupur, emphasized sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity in her welcome address.

She proudly announced that DAV National Sports is now recognized by the Government of India’s Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

Zonal level winners will receive State Level certificates, with national winners potentially qualifying for the Olympics based on merit.

Pragya Singh said that this event highlights DAV’s commitment to fostering sporting excellence and providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talents on a national stage.
