History-sheeter arrested with pistol, live cartridges from Dhatikidih

Jamshedpur: Bistupur police arrested a history-sheeter Md. Zahid with a 7.62 mm pistol, two live cartridges and one mobile phone and have sent him to judicial custody.

The officer-in-charge of Bistupur police station Ranvijay Sharma told media that the accused Zahid was found near Radio Maidan near Shankar Medical at Dhatikidih in a suspicious condition. He said that after a tip-off the district SSP formed a team and gave instruction to make raids for arresting him.

He said that the accused was arrested with a pistol and live cartridges, while is partner managed to escape.

Police claimed that raids are on to arrest the absconding criminal. Police said that they have found from whom had Zahid bough a pistol and the police are also making raids to arrest that person.

The officer-in-charge said that Zahid is an old history-sheeter and he was sent to jail even in the past. Several cases have been registered against him in Bistupur and Kadma police stations.
