Sakchi Utkal Association Approves Relocation Behind Rabindra Bhavan

The historic Utkal Association in Sakchi, operating since 1934, is set to relocate due to Tata Steel’s expansion, with the move awaiting final approval at the upcoming AGM.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Utkal Association, a long-standing community organization in Sakchi since 1934, is preparing for a significant relocation.

This move is necessitated by Tata Steel’s ongoing expansion plans.

The association has been offered a new location behind the Rabindra Bhavan, marking a new chapter in its history.

Tarun Kumar Mohanty, the General Secretary of Sakchi Utkal Association, confirmed that the Executive Committee has approved the proposal for this relocation.

During a press meet at the association, Mohanty detailed the relocation plan, stating that the final decision will be taken in the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM) of Utkal Association.

The AGM is scheduled for January 7 at 4:30 PM in the association’s auditorium, where the relocation proposal will be presented for approval.

Mohanty emphasized the importance of members’ participation in the AGM, urging them to attend and share their views on the relocation.

He also informed that members with queries about the proposal can submit their questions seven days prior to the meeting.

Dr. Sanjay Patra, the Senior Vice President, and Badal Bhuiyan, Vice President of the Utkal Association, were also present at the press conference.

The proposed relocation of Utkal Association is a significant event, considering its historical presence in the area and the impact of Tata Steel’s expansion on local communities.

The final decision, to be made during the AGM, will determine the future course for the association and its members.
