Jamshedpur Advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu Addresses Key Issues to Bar Council

Senior Advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu of Jamshedpur has penned a letter to the Chairman of the Jharkhand State Bar Council, addressing various challenges faced by advocates.

JAMSHEDPUR – Sudhir Kumar Pappu, a prominent advocate in Jamshedpur, has taken a significant step to address the issues plaguing the legal profession by writing to the Chairman of the Jharkhand State Bar Council.

His letter, also shared with the Chairman of the Bar Council of India and the Receiver of Jamshedpur Bar Association, Advocate Manoranjan Das, highlights multiple concerns and proposes solutions to improve the profession’s conditions.

Pappu’s letter emphasizes the need for resolving difficulties and obstacles encountered by Jharkhand’s advocates.

He has proposed installing statues of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, alongside the Constitution, within the District Bar Association premises.

Among his suggestions, Pappu urges equipping the District Bar Association building with Wi-Fi and central AC, and installing solar panels for sustainable energy.

He advocates for better facilities for women advocates, including separate halls and toilets.

Additionally, he proposes reducing the membership fee from ₹20,000 to a more equitable and rational amount.

Pappu suggests offering free membership to new members from Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, creating comfortable seating arrangements for new members, and providing a stipend of ₹1,000 per month for a year to new members.

He also recommends providing a monetary gift of ₹5,000 to regular advocates during festivals like Holi, Diwali, or Durga Puja.

Further, he proposes group insurance for all members, with the premium paid by the Bar, and increasing the death claim amount to ₹5 lakh.

For medical emergencies, he suggests a mediclaim limit of ₹2 lakh and advocates for mandatory compliance with the dress code and ID card within the bar premises.

He also recommends a ₹1 lakh gift from the Bar Association for the marriage of a member advocate’s daughter.

Through these proposals, Sudhir Kumar Pappu hopes to enhance the dignity, respectability, and progressive development of the legal profession in Jharkhand, urging the State Bar Council to take robust action in support of these initiatives.
