Electricity Tariff Hike Surprises Jharkhand Residents
New Rates for Jharkhand Electricity from March 1
Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd announces a tariff increase across consumer categories effective March 1, 2024.
RANCHI – JBVNL has revised electricity rates for the fiscal year 2023-24, marking a significant rise.
Urban domestic users now face a tariff of Rs 6.55 per unit, up from Rs 6.30.
Industrial consumers will also see their rates increase by 15 paise per unit.
The overall electricity tariff has risen by 7.66 percent.
Rural customers are subjected to a 50 paise per unit increase in their rates.
The new urban domestic rate is set at Rs 6.65 per unit.
Rural domestic rates are adjusted to Rs 6.30 per unit, and domestic high tension to Rs 6.25 per unit.
The Champai Soren government extends free electricity up to 125 units, improving upon the previous administration’s policy.
This adjustment reflects a commitment to balance increased operational costs with consumer relief measures.
