Chhath Puja Preparations Inspected by District Officials in Jamshedpur

DM and SSP Oversee Chhath Ghat Arrangements for Devotee Safety and Convenience

Senior officials in Jamshedpur ensure readiness of Chhath Ghats for the upcoming festival.

JAMSHEDPUR – In anticipation of Chhath Puja, a significant festival in the region, District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Kishore Kaushal conducted inspections of various Chhath ghats in the urban area.

They were accompanied by Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Jaideep Tigga, ADM Law and Order Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, DCLR Mr. Ravindra Gagrai, Deputy Municipal Commissioner JNAC, and representatives from JUSCO, among others.

The inspection focused on ensuring the cleanliness of the ghats, availability of changing rooms, clear marking of danger zones, adequate electrification, repair of access roads, and efficient parking and traffic arrangements.

Special attention was given to ensuring safety and maintaining law and order during the festival.

The DM and SSP reviewed the preparations at Swarnarekha Ghat, Mango Bridge, Do Muhani Ghat, Bailey Bodhanwala Ghat in Bistupur, and Baroda Ghat in Bagbera.

The DM emphasized the importance of coordination among municipal bodies, police, traffic authorities, electricity, and disaster management to ensure a seamless experience for the devotees.

He directed officials to ensure that all Chhathvratis (devotees) do not face any inconvenience during their visit to the ghats.

The officials also inspected the arrangements for divers, proper lighting, and parking facilities.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, while extending Chhath festival greetings to the public, urged everyone to adhere to the safety measures and traffic rules implemented for the festival.

He emphasized the importance of firework safety, especially considering children, the elderly, and women.

Both officials appealed to the public to avoid danger zones and adhere to the marked safety limits to ensure their own safety and that of others.
