Khalid Jamil’s appointment as Jamshedpur FC’s Head Coach signals a new chapter in the team’s ISL journey.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has officially announced the appointment of Khalid Jamil as their new Head Coach.

Khalid’s first task will be leading the team in the upcoming Kalinga Super Cup in January, followed by the second half of the ISL 2023-24 season.

Renowned for his expertise, Jamil is the first Indian permanent Head Coach in the ISL and the only Indian coach to have led a team to the ISL playoffs.

His coaching prowess was evident during his tenure with Aizawl and NorthEast United FC, earning him accolades such as the I-League Best Coach and FPAI Coach of the Year.

Jamshedpur FC CEO Mukul Choudhari expressed confidence in Khalid’s ability to elevate the team, citing his extensive experience in both ISL and I-League.

Khalid’s coaching journey includes a significant breakthrough with NorthEast United FC, where he led them to a playoff spot and a 10-game unbeaten streak.

Prior to his ISL success, Khalid guided Aizawl FC to the 2016–17 I-League title, marking a milestone for the Northeast region’s football.

Upon his appointment, Khalid expressed his eagerness to improve Jamshedpur FC’s standings and called for strong support from the fans.

Khalid’s immediate focus is on Jamshedpur FC’s first match against NorthEast United FC in the Kalinga Super Cup on January 10th in Bhubaneswar.

This strategic appointment highlights Jamshedpur FC’s commitment to strengthening their position in Indian football under Khalid Jamil’s leadership.
