SER Announces Extra Chhath Puja Special Trains for Festival Rush
South Eastern Railway to ease Chhath Puja travel with additional special trains connecting major cities.
In response to the increased passenger demand during Chhath Puja, SER introduces new special trains ensuring convenient travel.
JAMSHEDPUR – South Eastern Railway (SER) is set to introduce additional special trains to cater to the surge in passengers during the Chhath Puja, a major festival celebrated in the eastern parts of India.
The decision aligns with SER’s commitment to providing enhanced connectivity and travel convenience during festive seasons.
The 06053/06054 Tambaram-Santragachi-Tambaram Chhat Puja Specials are among the newly announced services.
06053 Tambaram-Santragachi Special, scheduled for 14th and 21st November 2023, will depart from Tambaram at 22.30 hrs and arrive in Santragachi at 03.45 hrs two days later.
The return service, 06054 Santragachi-Tambaram Special, will leave Santragachi on 16th and 23rd November 2023 at 05.00 hrs, reaching Tambaram at 11.00 hrs the following day.
This special train will make stops at several significant stations including Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar, and Chennai Egmore.
Additionally, the 08201/08202 Durg-Patna-Durg Chhat Puja Specials are set to ease travel between Durg and Patna.
The 08201 Durg-Patna Special, departing on 16th November 2023, will connect Durg with Patna, arriving the next day.
The return train, 08202 Patna-Durg Special, is scheduled for 17th November 2023.
It will halt at key stations like Raipur, Bilaspur, Ranchi, and Gaya.
These special trains are expected to facilitate smoother travel for those participating in Chhath Puja, a significant festival involving worship of the Sun God, especially among the Bihari community.
