  • Store to provide affordable medicines under PMBJP scheme
  • Patna-based agency appointed to manage the healthcare facility

JAMSHEDPUR – Tatanagar Railway Station will soon launch an affordable generic medicine store at its second entry gate.

The initiative aims to help passengers access medicines. Construction work is currently underway.

Moreover, the store location has strategic importance. It sits near the reservation center.

The facility operates under a national scheme. PMBJP launched this program in 2008.

Meanwhile, similar stores have shown success. Sini railway station already runs one.

“Healthcare access remains our priority,” stated a railway official.

Furthermore, the store promises competitive pricing. This benefits both travelers and locals.

The Department of Pharmaceuticals oversees this program. It ensures quality control.

Additionally, basic medical facilities will be available. The store opens in late December.

South Eastern Railway continues improving passenger amenities. Healthcare remains a focus area.

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers backs this initiative. It guarantees medicine quality.

In addition, PMBJP has expanded nationwide. Over 9,000 stores operate across India.

These stores reduce healthcare costs significantly. Generic medicines cost 50-90% less.

The program has helped millions. It makes essential medicines accessible.
