JAMSHEDPUR – Former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar leveled accusations against Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy, alleging selective disclosure of information and lying.
Dr. Kumar, a Congress party ticket aspirant from Jamshedpur East, a seat presently held by Saryu Roy himself, criticized Roy’s tactics during a press conference in Jamshedpur on Sunday.
He claimed Roy exposes corruption in others while concealing unfavorable facts about himself.
The former MP revealed details about the Aahar magazine case, implicating Roy in financial irregularities.
"Roy is adept at lying and only discloses information that benefits him," stated Dr. Kumar.
He highlighted a complaint filed by Ranchi resident Manoj Singh, accusing Roy of involvement in irregularities amounting to over 3 crore rupees.
Previous legal actions against Roy were also mentioned, including an FIR filed by the Health Department in Doranda police station.
Corruption Allegations
Dr. Kumar brought attention to Roy’s alleged connection with Baba Computers.
He claimed the work awarded to the company was eight times higher than market rates and government-set prices.
"This falls under the category of corruption," Dr. Kumar asserted.
The former MP questioned Roy’s motives in transferring a close associate to Dhanbad just before retirement.
"Why was this done, Mr. Roy?" he asked, implying an attempt to suppress the Aahar magazine case.
NGT Complaint Revelation
Dr. Kumar accused Roy of deceiving the public regarding the National Green Tribunal (NGT) complaint.
"Roy only acknowledged Arjun Munda’s involvement after I made the NGT order public," he stated.
A supporter of Dr. Ajoy Kumar commented, "These allegations, if true, raise serious questions about the transparency of Saryu Roy’s conduct as a minister."
