Sportsmanship and Skill in Focus as Over 450 Participants from 21 Units of Tata Steel Compete

Tata Steel’s Inter Divisional Basketball Tournament sees Iron Making and Steel Manufacturing claim victory in Women’s and Men’s categories, respectively, celebrating sportsmanship and talent among its employees.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel’s commitment to fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among its workforce was showcased vividly in the recent Inter Divisional Basketball Tournament.

The sports event, spanning from October 16 to 18 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, drew an enthusiastic crowd of over 450 participants representing 21 different units of Tata Steel.

Renowned technical officials, including figures like T Vasudev Rao and Rakesh Mahato, ensured a fair and rule-abiding tournament.

In the men’s category, Steel Manufacturing clinched the top spot, while OMQ and West Bokaro were declared the runner’s up and second runner’s up, respectively.

Iron Making took the winner’s trophy in the women’s category, followed by Steel Manufacturing and OMQ in the second and third positions.

Hemant Gupta, Head Adventure Programme and Sports, graced the occasion as Guest of Honour during the prize distribution ceremony, emphasizing the company’s dedication to promoting sports and well-being among its employees.
