Ethics Month 2023 at Tata Steel Culminates in ‘Excellence Through Integrity’

Tata Steel celebrated its commitment to ethical practices with a month-long observance that concluded in a grand ceremony.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel concluded its month-long celebration of ‘Ethics Month 2023’ today at Steelennium Hall.

‘Excellence Through Integrity’ was the powerful theme of this year’s observance.

The CEO and MD of Tata Steel, T. V. Narendran, and the President of the Tata Workers’ Union, Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary, graced the event.

They were joined by prominent leadership from Tata Steel, CEOs of TIS Group companies, and distinguished union members.

Highlighting the significance of the subject, T V Narendran stated, "The topic of ethics is very important. The theme for this year, Excellence with Integrity, conveys a strong message. We need to demonstrate both personal and professional honesty, which are vital. Establishing a reputation of excellence through integrity is crucial. The greatest assets of the Tata Group have been leadership and trust, which we need to further strengthen."

Choudhary applauded the commendable role of Tata Steel’s Ethics Department in fostering ethical conduct and spreading awareness on the topic. He stated, "In today’s world, unethical individuals face immediate consequences; thus, it’s essential for everyone to do the right thing."

Throughout July, Tata Steel conducted various activities to raise staff awareness on ethics. These activities included taking an Ethics Pledge at different locations, Mass Meetings, Nukkad Natak, POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) awareness sessions, quizzes, video reel contests, and a Window on World (WoW) session with Dr. Pawan Agrawal, founder and president of the Kamalabai Educational and Charitable Trust in Mumbai and a well-known international motivational speaker.

Winners of the diverse contests conducted during the month were announced at the closing event. The month also featured a quiz on ethics for media professionals in Jamshedpur and an online exam for media in regions with raw materials.

Thanks to online connections, employees from various Tata Steel and Group organisations were able to virtually attend the event.
