Tata Steel Launches Annual Ethics Month Celebration
CEO Narendran Kicks Off Event With Ethics Pledge Reading
The month-long initiative aims to reinforce ethical practices and sustainability across the organization.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel commenced its annual Ethics Month celebration today, emphasizing the theme "Ethical Culture Builds a Sustainable Future."
T V Narendran, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel, inaugurated the event by reading the ethics pledge during an online session.
"This reaffirmation of our ethical commitment is crucial for our long-term sustainability," Narendran stated, underscoring the company’s dedication to ethical practices.
The Ethics Month will feature a variety of engaging activities for employees throughout July, including photography and video-making contests, quizzes, and polls.
A podcast series will be launched to discuss ethical dilemmas and their resolutions in the workplace.
Panel discussions and round tables with value chain partners are scheduled to promote ethical practices beyond the company’s immediate workforce.
Creative events such as nukkad nataks (street plays), Rangoli competitions, and debates will be organized across various divisions to encourage widespread participation.
Tata Steel’s commitment to ethics dates back to its inception, with the Tata Code of Conduct (TCOC) introduced in 1998.
The TCOC outlines expected standards of behavior for the company, its employees, and business partners.
All new employees and business associates are required to sign a TCOC compliance undertaking before joining the company.
This annual celebration serves to reinforce Tata Steel’s ethical foundation and its role in ensuring the company’s sustainable future.
