Chandil Police Arrest Two Hazaribagh Youths for Molestation, Intimidation on NH-33

Two youths from Hazaribagh arrested by Chandil police for intimidation and molestation near NH-33.

SERAIKELA – Late Wednesday night, Chandil police made significant strides in maintaining law and order by arresting two youths for intimidating and molesting individuals on NH-33.

The youths, identified as Purushottam Pandey alias Ravi Pandey and Lokesh Pandey, were reported to have been causing a menace near Fadlugoda Kali Temple.

Both the arrested individuals hail from Hazaribagh.

A country-made automatic pistol, a Suzuki Scooty, and two smartphones from different companies were recovered from them.

SP Dr. Vimal Kumar provided further details on the operation.

He said that they had received secret information at around 9:20 pm about two armed youths creating fear among nearby shops and pedestrians.

A team led by SDPO Chandil was immediately mobilized for swift action.

The team managed to corner the suspects at Kali Mandir and upon interrogation, the two individuals attempted to flee but were apprehended.

A loaded country-made pistol and an Android mobile phone were found on Purushottam, while another Android mobile phone was recovered from Lokesh.

A girl from the crowd reported that the arrested individuals had made indecent remarks towards her and threatened her with a pistol.

The two youths are set to be sent to judicial custody on Thursday following further questioning.

Dr. Kumar affirmed that they would not allow criminals to thrive and that they are currently verifying the criminal history of the arrested youths.

The reason for their movement from Hazaribagh to Seraikela is under investigation, and there are suspicions that they might be working for a criminal gang.
