Notorious Criminals Apprehended in Ghatshila Police Encounter

Jamshedpur police foil a major crime plot by notorious operatives in a late-night encounter, arresting several individuals, seizing weapons and vehicles.

JAMSHEDPUR – The SSP of Jamshedpur, Prabhat Kumar, today shared detailed information about a police encounter that took place late on Thursday night behind Bholenath Dhaba in Kapagoda, under the jurisdiction of the Ghatshila police station in Jamshedpur.

He said that based on an anonymous tip-off about a plan by notorious criminals Sajan Mishra and Neeraj Singh alias Bhagna, to orchestrate a major crime with 8-10 of their associates, the police sprung into action.

Station in-charges from Mango, Ulidih, and Ghatshila, formed a team, bolstered by armed forces, and raided the location.

Upon the arrival of the police force, the criminals began to fire at the police.

In the ensuing counter-attack, Sajan Mishra was shot in the leg.

Some criminals managed to escape under the cover of darkness, however, the police succeeded in arresting several crime operatives.

The arrested criminals were identified as Sajan Mishra, Shahid Khan alias Shahzada, Rohit Kumar Gupta, Shiv Ranjan Yadav alias Shivpujan, Tapas Das, Gaurango Pushti, and Divyanshu Ojha.

Sajan Mishra and Rohit are known to have a criminal history.

The police also managed to seize several weapons, cartridges, and vehicles from the scene.

The police officials said that this encounter is a significant success for the local law enforcement, averting a potentially large-scale criminal operation.
