JAMSHEDPUR – District administration deployed an engineering team to inspect the deteriorated road from Sheetla Chowk to Karnadih Gate following concerns raised at Wednesday’s Disha Committee meeting.

The road connects thousands of residents to their daily activities. However, its condition has severely deteriorated over time. Large potholes have formed across various sections of the route.

Moreover, several portions of the road surface have completely eroded. Walking on the damaged road has become extremely difficult for pedestrians. The route serves people from different backgrounds including laborers and school children.

The engineering team conducted a thorough inspection on Thursday. Jamshedpur block officials accompanied the technical team during the survey. JMM leaders Jagat Mardi, Devjit Mukherjee, Manoj Naha, and Pappu Upadhyay were present.

Meanwhile, several party workers also participated in the inspection process. The team examined the entire road stretch systematically. Officials documented the extent of damage throughout the route.

“Both MLAs’ efforts led to district administration’s road inspection,” said a local source. “The road has become extremely dilapidated causing significant trouble to people.” The demand includes immediate repair work for the damaged sections.

Furthermore, another resident emphasized the road’s importance for the working class. “Movement through potholes has become extremely challenging,” they stated. The appeal requests Deputy Commissioner to complete repair work before festivals.

The inspection report will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner. Subsequently, departmental action regarding construction will commence. Local residents are hoping for better road conditions before the festival season.
