Gamharia’s Subroto Cup Football Tournament witnesses fierce competition and exceptional talent as Kolabira High School emerges victorious in the under-17 boys division.
GAMHARIA – The School Education and Literacy Department orchestrated the block-level Subroto Cup football tournament on Saturday, showcasing impressive talent in the Gamharia block’s Uparbeda football ground.
Block Education Officer, Subrata Mahato, kindled the inaugural lamp, marking the commencement of the competition.
He underscored the role of sports in fostering mental and physical resilience and its significance in holistic education.
Both government and non-government schools actively participated in the tournament, demonstrating their prowess on the football field.
Segregated divisions for boys and girls further amplified the competitive spirit. The under-14 title was scooped up by the Upgraded Middle School Hariharpur after a close battle with the Upgraded Middle School Barkatand.
However, it was Kolabira High School that stole the show by seizing the under-17 boys category. In the girls division of the same age group, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya emerged as the victors.
The closing ceremony concluded with a prize distribution event where accolades were bestowed upon the winners and runners-up.
The event administration was handled by teacher Prabha Shankar Tiwari.
The collective effort of block programme officers, namely Rukmani Hansda, Mithilesh Sinha, Harendra Pathak, and many others, played a pivotal role in the successful organization of the tournament.
A vote of thanks was given by BPO Rukmani Hansda, appreciating the contribution of all stakeholders.
Throughout the event, medical staff was stationed to provide immediate healthcare assistance to the athletes, ensuring a safe environment for the participants.
