Ramakrishna Mission Schools Chess Tournament 2024 Kicks Off in Bistupur

42 Students Compete in Inter-School Chess Event Organized by Ramakrishna Mission English School

The 4th Inter Ramakrishna Mission Schools Chess Tournament began today at Ramakrishna Mission English School, Bistupur, featuring young chess enthusiasts from 11 different schools.

JAMSHEDPUR – The tournament was officially opened on Friday by the chief guest Srimat Swami Istapremanandji Maharaj.

This year’s competition has drawn 42 students who are split into junior and senior categories, with 22 and 20 participants respectively.

Over the course of the event, each category will engage in 5 rounds of play.

Pankaj Saha, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna High School Bistupur, and K. Rajani, Principal and Tournament Director, were among the dignitaries present at the inauguration.

The event also saw the participation of Divya Tanna, Principal of Sumona Dutta Memorial School Baliguma, and several key figures including Physical Education teacher Deepak Srivastava, Chief Arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuiyan, and Tournament Technical Director FA Chandan Kumar Prasad.

Both winners and runners-up in each category will be recognized, and all participants will receive certificates of participation.
