Serbian International Joins Jamshedpur FC in Two-Year Contract Deal
Serbian international player Alen Stevanovic joins Jamshedpur FC on a two-year contract for the upcoming 2023-24 season, boosting the team’s strength.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Men of Steel, Jamshedpur FC, have officially signed up Alen Stevanovic, the experienced Serbian playmaker, in a two-year deal for the forthcoming 2023-24 season.
Stevanovic, who debuted in the senior squad under the tutelage of current AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho, has had a triumphant career in the footballing world.
Beginning his journey with the Inter Milan junior club, the 32-year-old player rose to fame when he played a pivotal role in Inter’s triple victory in 2009-10.
The club clinched the Serie A Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and UEFA Champions League under Mourinho’s leadership, with Stevanovic as a team member.
Following his glorious stint with Inter, the Swiss-born Serbian further showcased his skills by representing top Italian teams such as Torino FC, Palermo, SSC Bari, and Spezia.
Speaking on his association with Jamshedpur FC, Stevanovic remarked, "I consider it a privilege to play for Jamshedpur FC and have heard a lot about the club and its supporters. I firmly believe that with the right mindset, strategy, and fan support, we can return to the top."
Stevanovic brings with him an impressive track record. Besides winning the Serie B title with Palermo, he won the Serbian Super Liga (2016–17) and the Serbian Cup (2015–16, 2016–17) with Partizan Belgrade. He also played a critical role in leading FK IMT to the Serbian First League championship in the 2022-23 season.
Scott Cooper, the head coach of Jamshedpur FC, is confident about Alen’s addition to the team. "Alen will significantly enhance our team’s quality and experience. Despite his distinguished past, he remains a modest professional. Alen’s decision to choose Jamshedpur as his first Asian club will surely delight our supporters."
