Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana: Seraikela Launches Awareness Chariot for Girl Students
The Seraikela district administration commences an awareness campaign for Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana, aiming to reach every girl student across its 9 blocks.
SERAIKELA – The district administration of Seraikela has kicked off an awareness campaign for the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana.
On Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal flagged off an awareness chariot that will traverse all nine blocks in the district.
The objective is to ensure that every adolescent girl in the district is made aware of the government’s ambitious scheme.
Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal said the state government has taken the scheme very seriously.
The scheme provides for the disbursement of Rs 2,500 to girl students of classes VIII and IX as a first installment.
Additionally, Rs 5,000 is allocated for girls in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, and Rs 20,000 for those between 18 and 19 years old.
Rajkamal reported that last year, 100% of the district’s girl students were included in this scheme.
He announced that this year, the aim is to meet the same target.
In support of this, the awareness chariot has been commissioned.
The district has set a goal to receive applications from all remaining eligible girls by July 20 this year.
Currently, 5,000 applications have been received.
The Deputy Commissioner admitted that progress in some panchayats was slower than hoped, but asserted that instructions have been given to speed up the work via this awareness chariot.
