“Stricter Punishment Needed”: Minority Front on Tabrez Ansari Case Verdict

The All India Minorities Social Welfare Front demands harsher punishment for the convicts in the Tabrez Ansari lynching case, hinting at appeals to higher courts.

SERAIKELA – The All India Minorities Social Welfare Front has announced its intentions to appeal to higher courts for a harsher sentence for the convicts in the Tabrez Ansari lynching case.

Sarfaraz Hussain, a representative of the Front, expressed dissatisfaction with the ten-year rigorous imprisonment sentence given to the culprits, calling for a death penalty instead.

He argued that the severity of the crime demanded a more stringent punishment.

This reaction comes in the wake of a widespread discontent within the Muslim community regarding the court’s decision.

Shahista Parveen, wife of Tabrez Ansari, echoed similar sentiments, vowing to take the fight to the higher courts, despite respecting the current verdict.

Hussain pledged that the Minority Social Welfare Front would provide free legal aid to Tabrez’s family and vowed to make every effort to see the death sentence imposed in this case.

He stressed that such a verdict would serve as a strong deterrent against such heinous acts in the future.
