De-Addiction Campaign Intensified In Puruniyan Of Seraikela Kharsawan District, Women Banned Sale Of Illegal Liquor

Kharsawan: Women committees in Puruniyan village of Khuntapani block of Seraikela Kharsawan district have started an important initiative with the aim of making the village completely drug-free. In view of the increasing prevalence of drug addiction and its ill effects, a special meeting was organized in the village, in which a large number of women, men and children participated.

Speakers in the meeting said that due to drug addiction many families are on the verge of ruin. He expressed concern that even small children of the village are getting affected by intoxicants like beedi, cigarette, ganja and khaini, which is affecting their future.

Villagers admitted that serious problems like social disputes, economic problems and family disintegration are increasing due to drug addiction.

After the meeting, women’s committees and children took out an awareness rally in the entire village with placards in their hands. Through the rally, the message was given to the people to stay away from drugs and build a healthy society.

During this, the women clearly announced that sale of any kind of illegal liquor will not be tolerated in the village. If any person is caught selling liquor, strict action will be taken against him at the social level.

At the end of the program, women’s committees, villagers and children united and took a pledge to make Puruniyan a completely drug-free village. The women said that this public awareness campaign will continue until every evil of drugs is eliminated from the village.
