New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu chaired a review meeting with officials from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to discuss urban governance, improvements to civic infrastructure, and enhanced structural safety throughout the city.

The meeting addressed several key issues, including the desilting of stormwater drains in preparation for the monsoon season, road and pavement repairs to control dust, intensified sanitation efforts, and the acceleration of the Pradhan Mantri Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) for unauthorised colonies. Following the meeting, the L-G took to X and said, “Took a high-level review meeting of MCD to drive a comprehensive action plan for stronger urban governance, improved civic infrastructure, and enhanced structural safety across the capital.”

The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the importance of public welfare initiatives, urging officials to expedite the PM-UDAY scheme for residents of unauthorised colonies and to finalise a participatory CSR framework for the revitalisation of public parks.
