JAMSHEDPUR – A woman was seriously injured in a chopper attack at Gurudwara Basti in the Golmuri police station area, with the victim’s family accusing a BJP woman worker and her son of carrying out the assault over an old dispute.
According to the complaint, the trouble began on May 11. On that day, Rajveer Singh, along with a few associates, allegedly damaged the CCTV camera installed outside the house of Parvinder Kaur. A written complaint regarding the incident was subsequently filed at Sakchi police station.
The family of the victim alleges that continuous pressure was being exerted on them to withdraw the complaint. On Wednesday evening around 4:30 PM, the alleged attack took place in the same context. Lucky Kaur and her son Rajveer Singh allegedly descended on Parvinder Kaur and struck her with a chopper.
Parvinder Kaur sustained serious injuries in the attack. She was rushed to a hospital for immediate treatment and is currently under medical care.
Police reached the spot as soon as they received information about the chopper attack. Officers began questioning local residents and neighbours. Police said further action will be taken after completing the full investigation into the matter.
The Golmuri area has seen a spike in such incidents in recent months. Meanwhile, no arrest has been reported in the case so far, and tension prevails in the locality.
