Jamshedpur: Social activist Zeva Khan has demanded quick and effective action from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) regarding the safe recovery of girl Afrin, who was missing from Sakchi market for the last seven days.
He said that Afrin had gone to Sakchi market with her parents, from where she suddenly went missing. Even after a week of the incident, no trace of the girl could be found. Family members and local people are worried.
According to the information, immediately after the girl’s disappearance, her family members had lodged a complaint at Sakchi police station. Despite this, till now the police has not got any concrete success.
It is also not clear whether the girl had lost her way or some untoward incident had happened to her.
Zeva Khan has demanded the administration to take the matter seriously and constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT), conduct a thorough investigation of the CCTV footage of Sakchi Bazaar and surrounding areas and ensure regular review of the progress of the investigation.
He said that in cases of missing children, initial timing is of utmost importance, hence the police should take swift action using every possible resource.
He warned that if prompt and effective steps are not taken by the administration, then social workers and citizens will have to adopt the path of democratic movement in public interest, for which the administration will be responsible.
At the same time, Samarpan Seva Pragati Sanstha has also appealed to the administration to take action with sensitivity and seriousness in the matter, demanding the safe recovery of the girl Afrin as soon as possible.
