MEDININAGAR – The 17th Senior State-Level Girls’ Kabaddi Championship began at the Police Stadium in Medininagar. The three-day tournament was inaugurated by IPS trainee Divyansh Shukla and former Mayor Aruna Shankar. Organized by the Palamu District Kabaddi Association, the event has attracted 17 teams from across Jharkhand.
Addressing the players, the chief guests emphasized the importance of sports in shaping individuals and fostering community development. They stated that events like this provide a platform for athletes to showcase their talent and learn perseverance. “Sports imbue participants with energy and inspire them to strive for excellence,” noted Divyansh Shukla.
Promoting Sports Culture in Palamu
The guests highlighted that hosting such tournaments helps create a thriving sports culture in the region. “Developing sports in Palamu will encourage local youth to pursue their aspirations and achieve recognition in the field,” added former Mayor Aruna Shankar.
Event Highlights and Participation
Palamu District Kabaddi Association’s patron Kamalanand Dubey, President Manoj Mehta, and Secretary Upendra Kumar shared that the event is being conducted under the supervision of Jharkhand State Kabaddi Association General Secretary Bipin Kumar Sinha. Technical officials are ensuring the smooth conduct of matches. The championship will conclude on January 30.
