JAMSHEDPUR – A violent clash has been reported at the Sakchi Sheetla Mata Temple on Friday, involving two groups of priests who are already embroiled in an ongoing dispute. Seven priests from both sides were injured in the incident.
Both parties have since approached Sakchi Police Station to lodge formal complaints, and all the injured individuals were sent to MGM Hospital for treatment.
Among those injured in the clash are Ramraj Pandey, Ashok Pandey, and Abhay Pandey from one side, and Vinod Pandey, Vivek Pandey, Tribhuvan Pandey, and Gorakh Pandey from the other. All are currently receiving treatment at MGM Hospital.
The dispute centres around the rights to conduct worship at the temple. Ashok Pandey claimed that his uncle, Ramraj Pandey, was at the temple when Vinod Pandey, Tribhuvan Pandey, Gorakh Pandey, and Dhanji Pandey arrived and started a fight.
Ashok alleged that the accused, who are his brothers, are trying to establish their supremacy in the temple.
On the other hand, Dhanji Pandey alleged that their uncle, Ramraj Pandey, has been creating divisions among the brothers.
He further claimed that Ramraj has set up illegal shops on the temple premises where illegal substances are being sold.
Sakchi police are currently investigating the incident.
They have received written complaints from both sides and are preparing to register a First Information Report (FIR).
