Opposition Erupts as Railway Officials Attempt Possession of Leased Land in Jamshedpur
Opposition erupts as railway officials attempt to take possession of leased land in Bagbera Railway Traffic Colony in Jamshedpur. Clash ensues, leading to injuries and legal concerns surrounding the lease agreement
Jamshedpur – A clash between the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the engineering department of the railways unfolded when they arrived to take possession of a leased land at Bagbeda Railway Traffic Colony in Jamshedpur.
Railway employees and their relatives strongly opposed the move, leading to a tense situation. The protest escalated when some individuals attempted self-immolation.
In the chaos, a mother and daughter were saved from harm, but railway employee Sunil Pillai sustained severe burns.
He has been admitted to the burn unit at TMH for medical treatment.
The dispute revolves around the ownership of the land, which is claimed by both Sunil Pillai and his brother.
The land has been leased to a person named Om Prakash Kasera, and railway officials, along with Kasera, seek to take possession.
Questions have arisen regarding the lease agreement, as the Railways discontinued land allotments after 1984.
It remains unclear how the lease was granted in the name of Om Prakash Kasera, fueling further controversy and legal concerns.
