Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha Urges SSP to Address Rising Crime in Jamshedpur

A delegation from Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha meets SSP, submits a memorandum highlighting concerns over rising crime, law & order issues, and drug trade in Jamshedpur.

Jamshedpur – Concerned about the escalating crime rates in Jamshedpur, a delegation from the Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM) met with the Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar on Tuesday.

The delegation submitted a memorandum, voicing their concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation, rampant theft, extortion and thriving drug trade in the city.

BJM district president, Subodh Srivastava, presented during the occasion, expressed his concern over the daily occurrences of theft and snatching in various police station areas across Jamshedpur.

He emphasized the audacity of thieves who operate fearlessly across the city.

Srivastava also apprised him with alleged irregularities within police stations.

He criticized the police officers’ focus on trivial issues such as construction violations rather than working towards curbing the rising crime rates.

The lack of night patrolling by the police, according to Srivastava, is contributing to the soaring crime graph.

In addition, he pointed out the burgeoning drug trade as a significant factor in escalating criminal activities.

He stated that the drug dealers’ network poses a bigger problem than drug addicts themselves.

The widespread availability of substances like brown sugar in local streets is leading to an uncontrollable crime situation, he added.

Finally, Srivastava stressed the need to clamp down on drug dealers to curb the increasing crime rates in Jamshedpur.
