26 Crore Fraud Accused Duo Arrested in Jamshedpur
Jamshedpur’s Mohammad Faheem and Waheed Ahmed Ansari arrested in a 26-crore fraud case by Haryana Police, large cash and jewelry seized.
JAMSHEDPUR – Late Thursday saw a surprising turn of events in Jugsalai, Jamshedpur. Haryana Police, in conjunction with local Jugsalai officers, apprehended two suspected fraudsters.
The accused, Mohammad Faheem of Machhi Mohalla and Waheed Ahmed Ansari from Jugsalai Homa Line, were taken into custody early Friday morning.
Charges and Seizure
The pair face accusations of defrauding individuals out of a staggering 26 crore rupees. Their method involved changing their names in order to deceive their victims. In addition to the arrest, police seized from the suspects a sizeable collection of jewelry and a substantial cash sum.
Despite the significance of the arrest, police have not yet issued an official statement. Both suspects are currently being held for questioning at the Jugsalai police station.
Investigation Underway
As per sources, senior officers from Jamshedpur Police have joined the investigation. It is anticipated that Haryana Police will request a transit remand for the suspects following their court appearance scheduled for Saturday.
Origins in Haryana
The duo allegedly orchestrated their fraudulent scheme in Haryana. Upon the discovery of the crime, a complaint was lodged at the local police station against the phone number used during the fraud.
This led the police to Jamshedpur, where they coordinated with local law enforcement to execute the raid and subsequent arrests.
Search for Accomplices
Post-arrest, efforts are being made to trace the fraudsters’ wider network. Authorities are investigating potential gang affiliates and have set up multiple teams to conduct raids.
Profits from Forgery
Preliminary investigations suggest the duo has amassed a fortune through their fraudulent activities. The use of counterfeit documents reportedly facilitated their crimes, a claim that is currently under investigation.
