JAMSHEDPUR – In a major operation, Jamshedpur police apprehended two individuals linked to a sophisticated impersonation and document forgery racket aimed at securing bail for criminals.
The suspects, Arvind Prasad Singh and Naveen Kumar Rai, were found with a stash of fake Aadhaar cards, vehicle registrations, stamp papers, and photographs.
SSP Kishore Kaushal disclosed that intelligence had pointed to a scheme involving the fabrication of identification and official documents to facilitate the release of incarcerated individuals.
The breakthrough came when police, acting on a tip-off, intercepted the duo at the Civil Court Gate No. 3, unveiling their illicit activities.
During questioning, Singh and Rai confessed to creating counterfeit documents and impersonating identities for monetary gains, detailing their tactics in aiding criminal bail processes.
The investigation has exposed a larger network, including legal professionals, although subsequent arrests are pending as the search for additional accomplices intensifies.
