Only 116 Selected, Disappointment for Rest at the Employment Fair in Golmuri

An employment fair organized at the Lower Regional Employment Exchange in Golmuri sees only 116 candidates selected out of the 2848 positions that were open.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Dattopant Thengari Employment Fair, held at the premises of the Lower Regional Planning Office in Golmuri on Thursday, witnessed a lower selection rate than expected.

Of the 2848 posts for which various district employers sought candidates, only 116 were selected. Additionally, 488 candidates were shortlisted for future consideration. District Planning Officer Bam Baiju has provided this information.

The fair saw a throng of unemployed youth gathering at the Employment Exchange building from 10 am.

The participating companies had set up individual stalls to collect applications and conduct interviews.

Among the recruiting companies were TRF Limited, Yuva Shakti Foundation, Talent Nexa Services Pvt Ltd, Stream Digital Services, and Sparefaced Designs Pvt Ltd, who recruited for positions such as technicians, crane operators, helpers, welders, fitters, dressers, tele sales associates, and more. The qualifications of the approximately 1000 participating candidates ranged from 10th grade to B.Tech degrees.

However, this isn’t the first instance of a lower than expected selection rate. Earlier on June 7, at another job fair organized at the Lower Regional Employment Exchange in Golmuri, only 74 out of 1200 candidates landed jobs, despite the availability of 1356 vacancies from various district employers.
