Theft at Jadugora High School Raises Security Concerns

Burglars steal sports equipment, breaking locks and grills in second such incident

Local leaders demand increased police patrolling to protect school assets.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jadugora’s Upgraded High School fell victim to a burglary on Saturday night, with thieves stealing a pair of shoes and a football after breaking locks and grills.

This marks the second theft incident at the school, prompting concerns about security measures.

Acting Principal Mukul Kumari has filed a written complaint at Jadugora Police Station.

Local Mukhiya Anita Murmu and School Management Committee President Dilip Tudu have called for increased police patrolling in the area.

The community leaders emphasized the need to protect millions worth of school property from future thefts.

A previous incident six years ago saw the theft of the school’s submersible pump motor, which remains unrecovered.

The school has also experienced thefts of water taps in the past.

The latest burglary occurred between June 22 and June 24, when the school was closed for the weekend.

Staff discovered the missing items when the school reopened on Monday, June 24.

This incident highlights the vulnerability of educational institutions in remote areas to theft.

Local authorities are urged to take serious action to prevent such occurrences in the future.

The repeated thefts raise questions about the overall security infrastructure in Jadugora’s educational institutions.
