Mass Defection to BJP in Jharkhand: JMM, Congress Leaders Join Ranks

Hundreds of JMM, Congress leaders and workers switch to BJP in Jharkhand, disenchanted with the current government. BJP assures respect to Dalit, tribal society.

RANCHI: In a significant political development in Jharkhand, hundreds of leaders and workers from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The mass induction took place in front of the state president at a meeting held at the BJP state office on Sunday.

Prominent new members include Ravindra Raju, JMM’s candidate in the Chhattarpur assembly constituency, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, former general secretary of East Singhbhum Congress Committee, and Baldev Bhuiyan, the East Singhbhum district president of JMM Dalit Morcha.

Saroj Devi, Latehar Zilla Parishad member, was also present.

State BJP president and MP Deepak Prakash welcomed the new members, criticizing the JMM for shattering the dream of Jharkhand.

He accused the JMM and Congress coalition government of deceiving the public and focusing only on the welfare of the ruling family.

Prakash also applauded the BJP’s respect for Dalit and tribal societies, as well as the party’s dedication to addressing the concerns of the poor, Dalits, the deprived, and the backward.

Baldev Bhuiyan, after taking BJP membership, vowed to work for the victory of the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, expressing his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thoughts, policies, and dedication towards the country.
