Dr. Ajoy Kumar Urges SSP to Intensify Anti-Drug Campaign in Jamshedpur

Former MP Dr. Ajoy Kumar appeals to the Senior Superintendent of Police to instruct all station in-charges to seriously campaign against drugs in East Singhbhum district.

JAMSHEDPUR – Former MP from Jamshedpur, Ex-IPS and Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar, has written a letter to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), appealing for an intensified campaign against drug trade in East Singhbhum district.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar, who is also a permanent invitee member of the Congress Working Committee, has requested the SSP to direct all station in-charges to take serious action against the drug menace in the city.

In his letter, Dr. Ajoy illustrated the dire situation in the police station areas where he claimed that many families had lost everything due to drug addiction. Young adults aged 20 to 30 years are falling prey to drug addiction, leading to severe socio-economic problems and an increase in crime rates.

In order to fund their addiction, these individuals are resorting to theft, robbery, and fraud, thereby pushing them further into a life of crime.

Dr. Ajoy’s letter was presented alongside a memorandum, signed by a number of Congress party officials and members, including Dharmendra Sonkar, Bablu Jha, Raja Singh Rajput, Sultan Ahmed, Shashi Bhushan Prasad, Amit Dubey, and others.
