Tragic End for Lovers: Couple Found Dead in Jamshedpur’s Bonta Village
Police uncover a grim scene in Jamshedpur’s Bonta village. A young couple, victims of an alleged love affair gone awry, found hanging from a Mahua tree.
JAMSHEDPUR – A scene of grim tragedy unfolded on Wednesday morning in Bonta village, Jamshedpur, as police found the bodies of a young couple hanging from a Mahua tree in an apparent suicide pact.
The shocking incident is believed to have taken place late Tuesday night.
Bodam police station under-inspector Dilip Majhi, along with his team, arrived at the scene around 8 am on Wednesday. The bodies were carefully removed from the tree in the presence of villagers and sent to MGM Medical College for post-mortem examination.
Upon receiving the news, a large crowd assembled at the site.

Some even recorded the disturbing incident and shared it on social media.
Police have identified the deceased as N Singh (23) and K Birua (18), residents of Kutimakuli of Bonta Panchayat, after questioning the villagers.
According to locals, the couple was in a romantic relationship for several years and wished to marry.
Allegedly, their families disapproved due to different castes within the same tribal society — the girl was from the Ho community, and the boy, from the Bhumij community.
This tragedy shocked the villagers.
There have been many such cases where persistent social obstacles have forced young couples to the edges.
