- Criticizes state over Nagdi protest and Surya Hansda encounter
SERAIKELA – Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Seraikela MLA Champai Soren visited Dandu village in Rajnagar block on Friday to meet the family of victims who died when their house collapsed during heavy rain.
Soren expressed grief and met the bereaved relatives. He instructed the circle officer to provide immediate state assistance for the family. Moreover, he announced that he would adopt the family personally and construct a house for them.
However, he urged others facing rain-damaged homes to submit lists to the local office for repairs. He also raised concerns over being put under house arrest during the Nagdi protest. According to him, despite restrictions, the farmers achieved moral victory by clarifying their demands. He accused the state government of being anti-tribal and anti-native.
Meanwhile, Soren also commented on the Surya Hansda encounter case. He alleged that the government silenced a tribal youth who spoke against crime. The opposition, he emphasized, continues to demand a CBI probe and will not rest until justice is done.
