Security Forces Thwart Naxalite Plot, Seize 11 IED Bombs in West Singhbhum of Jharkhand
West Singhbhum police and security forces dismantle Naxalite plan, recover 11 IED bombs, with continual success in their anti-Naxal campaign.
Chaibasa – West Singhbhum police and security forces in Jharkhand have once again foiled a Naxalite plot.
In an intensive operation, they recovered 11 IED bombs intended to inflict harm upon security forces. Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar informed that the bombs were discovered in the forest and hilly regions around Tumbahaka village under Tonto police station, and Maradiri, Hathiburu, Meralgadha and Chhota Kuida under Goilkera police station area.
Additionally, four spiked holes with iron rods and numerous arrows were retrieved.
In an ongoing triumph against the Naxalite threat, the seized explosives were promptly demolished at the location due to security reasons, as part of the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign.
It’s notable that the district police and security forces had already recovered several IED bombs from Naxalites on May 27.
A focused drive for bomb recovery was initiated on May 27, witnessing significant accomplishments.
Top leaders of the proscribed Naxalite group, CPI Maoist – Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahto, Sagen Angaria, Ashwin, and their squads are reportedly active in the Kolhan area.
As a response, a joint operation by various battalions of the Police, Cobra and CRPF is underway.
Superintendent Shekhar emphasized that this campaign against Naxalites would persist.
Units from Cobra 209, 203 battalions, CRPF 197, 174, 193, 157, 134, Jaguar 60 and 7 battalions, along with bomb disposal squad personnel, participated in the anti-Naxal operation.
The recovered IED bombs weighed between 1.5 to 8 kg each.
