Inauguration of 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express Set for May 18, 2023

The 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express, an electric multiple-unit train, is set for inauguration on May 18, 2023, from Puri.

Desk: Indian Railways is set to add another feather to its cap with the inauguration of the 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express on May 18, 2023.

The regular run of this train will commence from May 20, 2023, from both Howrah and Puri, operating six days a week, barring Thursdays.

The Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express will depart from Howrah at 06:10 hrs and arrive in Puri at 12:35 hrs the same day. On its return journey, the Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will depart from Puri at 13:50 hrs and reach Howrah at 20:30 hrs.

This 16-coach train will make stops at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khurda Road stations. Tickets for the 22895 Howrah-Puri Vande Bharat Express will be available for booking through PRS and the internet from May 17, 2023.

Designed and built indigenously by the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18, is a semi-high speed electric train.

Capable of achieving a maximum speed of 160 km/h, it has set new standards in Indian Railways with features like air-conditioned coaches with rotatable seats, large windows, bio-vacuum toilets, and a passenger information and entertainment system.

Currently, 15 Vande Bharat Express trains operate on various routes across India, reflecting the country’s growing technological prowess and the success of Indian Railways in providing comfortable and speedy travel options.
